Earthquake Rocks Nicaragua''s Pacific Coast
Managua, 10 Dec (Prensa Latina) A 4.0 earthquake was registered today off the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, but no victims or material damage was reported, according to the Nicaraguan Institute for Territorial Studies.
The quake took place at about 05:59 local time, with its epicenter in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of 15 km, off the coast of the Masachapa beach resort, about 60 km southeast of Managua.
The tremor was related to the tectonic movements of the Cocos and Caribbean plates, the institute said.
