Moderate Quake Rocks Western Iran without Damages
Teheran, Dec 29 (Prensa Latina) A moderate 4.7 magnitude seism rocked today the western city of Mourmour, in Ilam province, reported specialized sources.
The seism occurred at 02:26 local time at 32.87 degrees of latitude and 47.66 degrees of longitude, according to the Geophysics Institute of the University of Tehran.
No material damage or victims have been reported in the area, according to IRNA news agency.
The Islamic Republic, located in an area of tangled tectonic faults, is prone to frequent quakes, and some of them have been devastating in terms of fatalities and material damage.
