Typhoon Haiyan Causes Floods, Death in China
Beijing, Nov 12 (Prensa Latina) Nearly 1,200 flooded villages in Hainan province, several storms, 10 deaths and a higher number of people missing is the partial report of the damages Typhoon Haiyan caused in China.
According to reports from different provinces such as Guangdong and Hunan and the autonomous region of Guangxi Zhuang, Haiyan continues to downgrade after causing heavy rainfall and destroying the Philippines, where it killed nearly 10,000 people.
Authorities of Hainan island made public that Qionghai is the most affected municipality, where a river overflew its banks and flooded over 1,000 villages, while 20 of them are completely isolated with economic losses of nearly 23 million USD.
On the other hand, the downgraded Typhoon Haiyan killed 13 people in Vietnam and injured 80, according to a report issued today by the National Committee for Search and Rescue in emergency situations.
