Physical Exercises Facilitate Memory Performance
Washington, Nov 13 (Prensa Latina) New evidence suggests that physical exercise increases memory performance, according to the latest edition of the journal Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience.
Experts point out that aerobics especially can reduce the biological and cognitive consequences of aging.
The study evaluated the performance of two groups of adults ages 57 to 75 who were chosen at random, some of them subjected to a physical training and some of them not.
During their experiments, scientists analyzed the cognitive and cardiovascular manifestations of individuals before exercise, six weeks the research was initiated and 12 weeks later.
They concluded that those who routinely practiced aerobics improved memory performance and had greater cerebral blood flow in the hippocampus.
