Heavy Rains, Hail Leave 27 Dead in Bolivia
La Paz, Dec 19 (Prensa Latina) A total of 27 dead and more than 1,750 affected families was reported as the result of continuous rain and hailstorms and strong winds in different regions of Bolivia.
Deputy Minister of Civil Defense Oscar Cabrera reported that victims are being assisted with humanitarian aid.
Cabrera explained that the affected localities are Mizque Colcapirhua, Tropico, Tiquipaya, Cercado, Marván, San Andrés, San Ignacio de Moxos.
The departments of La Paz (Tipuani, Tumupasa and Palca), Potosí, Chuquisaca, Santa Cruz and Tarija were also hit by bad wather.
Cabrera, quoted by the Bolivian Information Agency, announced that families in the areas affected will be given humanitarian assistance consisting of seeds and tools.
