Chernobyl, CUBAN HUMANITARIAN PROGRAM

Final Thoughts

The Cuban Program of Comprehensive Medical Care of children affected by Chernobil accident is an example of what a country can do, regardless of its economic resources, whenever it has the human capital capable of facing the most diverse and complex situations in the healthcare field, in order to assist our people and other peoples worldwide.

The difficult economic conditions that Cuba has faced after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, and the intensified economic blockade do not prevent from developing this humanitarian program in which all the resources and means for assisting  our people were also at the disposal of these children and their relatives. The above-mentioned is an expression of the political willingness and the principled policy based on solidarity and on development of humanitarian consciousness.
