XVIII INTERNATIONAL ITALO-LATINAMERICAN CONGRESS OF ETNOMEDICINE
 “JUAN TOMÁS ROIG”
8th International Workshop "Chemistry of the Natural Products"

The Cuban Society of Chemistry (SCQ), the Italo-Latin American Institute of Ethno-medicine and the Italo-Latin American Society of Ethno-medicine (SILAE) are delighted in inviting you to the XVIII Italo-Latin American Congress of Ethnomedicine "Juan Tomás Roig" and to the VIII International Workshop on Natural Products Chemistry that will be held from the 14th to the 18th of September, 2009 in Conference Center of Havana, Cuba.
Like in previous occasions, this Congress will represent a special opportunity to spread and exchange the most recent ethno-medical advances that have took place in Latin American and Europe among the fields of Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Anthropology, Nourishment and bordering sciences, as well as ethnic-popular cultures about the use of Natural Products. And all this, in the captivating environment of our Havana, just a little beautiful city surrounded by the wider Latin American culture. Our usual commercial fair will also be an interesting attraction for all participants, who will have the opportunity to learn about the culture, history and social life in our city, in a tropical-warm climate of hospitality characteristic of Havana, which will make your stay a fruitful, pleasant and unforgettable experience. 

TOPICS OF THE CONGRESS: Etnobotanic and Etnomedicine, Feeding and Health, Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Natural Products, Etnopharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Medical Anthropology
 

PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS: Investigators, professionals, specialists, technicians, doctors, clinical, therapeutics, directive, teachers, managers and all kindred personnel related with the autochthonous and popular cultures of our countries, linked with Products and Natural Medicines. 
  Official languages: Spanish, Italian and English
  Presentation of the scientific works:   The summaries of the works will be able to approach any thematic of the Congress and they will be sent in electronic format up to June 1 from the 2009 to the:     http://www.etnomedicina2009.com
The Scientific Commission will inform the acceptance or not in the works and its presentation way in the Congress before July 1 the 2009. These will be included in a CD of the event together with the general Program and other important aspects of the event. 

INSCRIPTION
Modules of Accreditation for the delegates:   
•  Credentials, Welcome cocktail and closing activity, Lunch and coffee break during the event; Program, CD or book of summaries, participation certificates, block of notes, pens, several documents, etc.; Participation in the scientific sessions and activities planned by the Organizing Committee. 
 The established inscription quotas are:   

• Delegates                                           250.00 CUC
• Delegates Latin-American              200.00 CUC 
• Companions                                          80.00 CUC (it doesnt include lunch) 
• Student                                             150.00 CUC
  

The Registration Fee as the same as other payments in Cuba, it will be paid in Convertible Cuban Pesos (CUC), currency of official circulation in the country.  The same one can be obtained to the arrival to Cuba in airports, hotels, center of conventions, bank agencies and changes boxes.  The exchange to this currency can make with Euros, American and Canadian dollars, Sterling pounds, Swiss francs, Mexican pesos, to the rate of change and effective commissions at the moment. The payment can also be carried out by means of credit cards like VISA, MASTER CARD, CABAL and VISA ELECTRON, when the main house is not a North American bank.
